It is controlled atmosphere furnace. The controlled atmosphere is produced & controlled with methanol and liquid petroleum gas and monitored by computer control automation system.

The furnace has pre and post washing station for the cleaning of any dirt and oil stick with part during the pre-manufacturing processes of the material and after the oil quench of component in the process of through hardening.

Type of alloy which can be processed:

Component and Fastener made up of Low & Medium alloy Carbon Steel, Boron Steel, and Spring Steel (For eg: EN8D, C45, EN18D, EN19, all grade of Boron Steel).

Institute has 02 pit type electric heated gas carburizing furnace. The case hardening of the low alloy carbon steels carried out from the case depth of 0.3mm to 1.2mm in oil quench only.

The Furnace also used for the through hardening and tempering of the low, medium alloy steel component for automotive, hand tool and component of general engineering industry of size up-to the length of 800mm.

Institute has two electric heated tempering furnace used for the purpose of tempering, stress relieving and recrystallization processes.

Institute have this state of art low temperature material treatment facility to enhance the material properties at microscopic level to improve its wear properties by producing improvement in material micro structure which subsequently increase the life of component.

This furnace is used for small components of bicycles, automotive parts and fasteners for through hardening and case carburizing. Our rotary furnace is equipped with water quenching facility only.
